I've been listening to the Eurovision entries that have been made public so far. Of the entries so far I have three favourites (apart from the Icelandic one). Romania was the first one I heard and liked a lot. Then Ireland and now last Latvia. Not a typical Eurovision song but I love it, probably because it sounds a bit like Il Divo. Hope these links work. Here's the video, although it sounds better than it looks. However, I quite like the Romanian video. And finally, the Irish video.
Here's a link to the official Eurovision 2007 site.

Status quo
Went to weighing and meeting yesterday. Didn't get rid of anything this week, but didn't put any on either - which is good. The weight consultant blames too little fat so I have to do better in that area - and I also knew that. This morning I poured 15 grams (or maybe they were 17) of olive oil into a little bowl and I will have that with dinner tonight. Just pour it over my veggies or something.

Muggles

And we have a winner!
The Icelandic Eurovision final was last night. Nine songs, some good, some not so good. Both Bob and I (and quite a few other people that we know) rooted for Eiki who took part on Iceland's behalf in 1986 and on Norway's behalf in 1991. Last year we were disappointed, we didn't like the song we sent and the performer was horrible and she did not do us proud. This time we are happy. Eiki won and we know that he will do us proud. Here's the song (hope this works).

Dentist - and more
Sólveig Lilja went to see a dentist for the first time yesterday. We have been talking about doing that for months and since Bob and I have different dentists, we talked about which one to take her to. On the way to play school a few weeks ago I asked her; did she want to go to Mamma's dentist or Pabbi's dentist. She said Pabbi's so that was decided then. Called him on Monday and got an appointment yesterday. Didn't take long but he took an x-ray since her top front teeth are getting a bit dark. Otherwise her teeth are fine. He's great. Sat down to talk to her, then led her in and put her in the chair, then showed her the little mirror and got to take a look in her mouth and she seemed fine with it all. After the x-ray he picked her up and carried her into the other room to pick a prize since she had been a good girl. I understand why Bob likes him, he's very friendly.
Ella came over yesterday to cut Kristín Lára's hair. She (KL that is) just sat there and hardly moved while her auntie cut her hair. Didn't say a word either. Then Ella coloured my eye lashes and the cousins played (Ella brought Margrét and Guðrún Margrét with her). Guðrún Margrét is very good with the girls actually and always has been. Margrét is different, she lets the other one lead.
Schools is better than yesterday. Listened to one lecture and did 3 problems that I hadn't looked at before. Didn't take me long, they were rather easy compared to the stuff I was trying to do yesterday. So that's better. Got the next TMA, it's due on Wednesday. It'll be OK, but like I said to Bob yesterday, the only thing that keeps me going now is that it is the last math course and if I stick to it and finish these two courses, I will have only 4 left.
I downloaded a few Eurovision songs yesterday, those that have been chosen yet (Albania, Denmark, Estonia, Netherlands, Belarus, Norway, Poland, Romania and Slovenia). Quite interesting songs actually. The Icelandic final will be on Saturday and I'm rooting for the red haired old rocker Eiki. I just love his song. We'll see who wins then.

About time!
I have finally reach 30 kilos in my fat fighting. After weeks of not much progress. In the last 6 months I've only managed to get rid of 7 kilos and my goal still seems far away if I continue at this slow rate. But I can also look at it this way: I only have 6 more kilos to go to reach the upper limit of healthy BMI and when I'm there, I'll consider what to do, if to continue or if to stop there. I still don't know were I want to end this.
We have been talking a lot about getting a dog. I would love to, we all would, but there is also a lot of work involved in having a dog. Bob, who would do most of the work, doesn't seem to think it's a problem so we are going to go for it. Contacted someone who has a few puppies, a couple of weeks ago, and he called again yesterday to tell us that we can have one of them. We went to see them yesterday and the girls went crazy of course, they each picked one and just held them and cuddled them! We got to choose from the two males and we picked the bigger and more lively one. He seemed to calm down pretty well with Sólveig Lilja though. We will probably be able to pick him up this weekend. Needless to say, the girls are excited, to say the least! We have thought about calling him Muggles, he's half chihuahua, half Icelandic, an interesting mixture. The mother was lovely, liked her cuddles and seemed calm and relaxed, something I didn't really think chihuahuas are. Icelandic sheepdogs I know and know they would never hurt a child so we are hoping that we have a good little dog there. We'll see.
I so no fancy school right now. Well, I don't fancy much at all right now, have a bloody cold :( Have a bloody cold, we all do - except Sólveig Lilja is ok, and have had for weeks. We are all getting sick of it.

Paint

Otherwise, things are the same. We have all had a cold - or probably one after the other - for quite a while now. I'm really getting sick of that and so is the rest of us I think. I've been fighting this thing for weeks now and it's not getting better at all, worse if anything. I have no energy, am constantly tired, I don't do my studying properly, it's just not good. And now we are going to try to get the bathroom unit down this week so that we can lay the tiles this weekend, hopefully we will be in better shape by then. I talked to my mother yesterday about looking after the girls over the weekend so that we can concentrate on our work. It will be nice for them to spend some time with their grandparents.
Well, let's just hope we will get rid of this cold soon and get our energy back.
