Fat fighting

It's been reading and reading, corporate law, inheritance law, laws on stocks and shares and whatever it's all called. Went to the fat fighters today and was nicely surprised when it turned out that instead of putting on weight, I got rid of 1,5 kilos. Not bad that.

And ready to be used. We are all to polite to go first though. But I'm sure it's nice and comfy.

Calculus

I had my calculus & statistics test today. I am pretty confident that I did well enough to pass but not much more than that. I have another test next Wednesday and I'm pretty sure I'll fail that one but I'm still going to try though. I'm just very glad that I've done this math test. I've been sitting almost every night and almost every Saturday and Sunday, doing excercises and solving problems and I never want to see this again and I think I deserve at least a passing mark for the bl.... thing.

Amazing girls

Árni (a cousin's husband) came yesterday and took down the old toilet and started fitting the new one. He didn't finish but will come back tonight and finish it. So we have to do with the downstairs one for now. I talked to the plumber on Monday night and he said he could come whenever - if I understood him correctly. Also talked to Ari (who is going to cut the lines in the floor) yesterday, he hoped he could come on Saturday. So hopefully we will have a nice and warm floor and can start fitting the tiles next week.

Because of the work in the bathroom, the girls didn't have a bath last night and went to bed a bit early and Sólveig Lilja was asleep around half seven I think. She was also up and came in to our room before seven this moring. Kristín Lára however, normally doesn't go tosleep until we come in sometime between 22 and 23, we can hear her talking away all evening!

I use the toboggan to take Sólveig Lilja to school. It's a bit too small for her so her feet stand out a bit but she loves it. And it's a easy way to take her then. Then I walk to work. All of this takes about 30-35 minutes I think, depending how long I take to undress her. On Friday, as we were going there, she said to me: "mamma, I can't see the moon". She'd been looking for it and couldn't find it :) She is lovely and a good girl. Her attitude could be better but she is still a good girl. Knowing her alphabet in English at that age is not bad, even if she seems to have something against the letter n most of the time. And knowing how to count up to 20 in three different languages (English, Icelandic and French) is not bad either. Also it's a joy to watch er dance, it's so full of imagination if you can say that.

Kristín Lára is also amazing. Or at least we think so. The way she holds a pen and draws small circles and lines. She is putting together words now, less than 17 months old. Or is that just normal? Sólveig Lilja didn't at this age. Funny which words she puts together though. On Friday she said to me, probably when I was cleaning her nose; "hættu mamma". "Hættu" means stop. And she's said it again after that. She said a new word yesterday, she was playing with a phone and as she held it up against her ear she said "hallo". And she feeds herself, we are not allowed to help her with that anymore! I think this picture of her shows her character quite well, as the one of Sólveig Lilja does.

The "fat fighters" (as Bob calls it) meeting didn't go too well yesterday, I put on 600 grams again :( I am a bit stressed because of the test on Friday and I am walking to work most mornings now but I still shouldn't have put on weight. I probably shoudn't have had that pizza last week.......... Well, hopefully I'll do better this week. I have done well all in all though, 27 kilos gone and that's not bad I think ;)

That's all for now.

Bless,
Birgitta

First test

Well, well, well. Here I am starting a blog for the Pells family in Iceland. This is the very first entry and I want to see this work before I really get going. So we'll see.......... Don't know why I don't trust that this will work but I do, probably with no reason.
