New clothes, new pictures

Went to Hagkaup today, they were having a sale, and got these two items for myself. Thought it was time for new pictures as well.

Sound asleep

Sneaky

Kristín Lára had sneaked out of her cot and fallen asleep in our bed!

Box finished

Yes, it's finished. The building of it that is. I needs to be painted and we need to put gravel in the right half but otherwise it's finished. And this is what it looks like - except we have tidied it up now and when this picture was taken it wasn't quite finished. Not bad work I think ;)

The weather has been so good today so the new deck has been used a lot today. Lunch and dinner were cooked out there and lunch was eaten out there. That box is not bad to sit on, actually.

Up again

Went to my weekly weighing yesterday and this time Mrs Scale said 500 up :( Not good. I'm going to have to do better than this.

Tests finished

I have finished both tests and now I just have to wait and see if I passed or if I have to resit them. I am not sure about either one of them, could have done better on both. But that's life.

Bob and I have been working on the box on the deck today. I've been waiting to do that for a long time but didn't want to start until school was over. We measured it out during the week thought and I ordered the wood yesterday and we picked it up today and started building the frame this afternoon. And tonight after the girls had gone to sleep, we continued and the frame is finished for the most part now. It looks pretty good - if I say so myself and I am really enjoying creating this. Not only will it give us some storage space but it will also clear up the mess that this hole in the corner has been since the deck was built. Now we won't have to take the tires to the farm for storage anymore and now we will have a nice box in the corner to either sit on or to put things on.

I had "sewing club" last night. We (the girls in work) started doing this last winter and quite often met every other week with our needlework or whatever. We met a few times before Christmas but this is the first time that we've met after Christmas. I had told them I'd invite them when the bathroom was finished. And they loved the bathroom - of course, it is fantastic.

Got rid of 600 grams this week. But I went lunchtime (before I ate) instead of in the afternoon. So what the real loss is I'm not sure of.

Tired

Kristín Lára felt tired and decided to have a nap in the pile of toys!

Bathroom almost finished

The bathroom is almost finished now. I've got some paint jobs to do (ceiling, window and door) but the cutains are there (need to take another picture nighttime to see them better), toilet roll holder and the towel hooks are up and towel radiator was put on on Thursday if I remember correctly. Looks pretty good, I think we both agree on that.

Girls having a bath

I took these pictures just now when the girls were having a bath. Which reminds me, they're still in there and should be fished out soon :)

Up and down

Mrs. Scale said 400 more yesterday than she did a week ago. I blame my heavy clothes and not eating enough fish. What it means though is that I didn't get rid of any weight this time, even if I'd had lighter clothes on I old Mrs. Scale wouldn't have said a number lower than she did last week. I didn't keep food diary last week and I didn't follow the diet properly. Had a bit of popcorn with the girls and quite a bit of chocolate - healthy chocolate though. So it's fish for tonight and I'm going to get back on track and get rid of these last kilos.

Landslides

In early January a couple of landslides occured near the farm. Both closed the road and the second one cut the phone cables. Today on the way back from the farm I got a good chance to see them and took these pictures. First two pictures are of the first landslide and the second two from the other one.

Easter

I went to the farm today with the girls. This picture was taken just before lunch - which lasted for about an hour and a half! Only kid missing is Arnaldur who was a sleep outside at this moment.

Arnaldur

My aunty Þrúða came over for a visit yesterday and took her grandson Arnaldur with her. He's almost 5 months old now. The girls loved him. Sólveig Lilja insisted that he was her brother and Kristín Lára just looked at him and giggled :) When I mentioned that he might be hungry, Sólveig Lilja wanted to find him something to eat and I told her that he wanted milk from his mother's breasts. Then she pulled up her clothes like she wanted to breastfeed him and Kristín Lára did the same.

Crapper fittet - again

This is how the bathroom looks right now. Bob fitted the toilet yesterday while I tried to put the tap up. I gave up on that, it leaked :( But the toilet is up so we can use that now and I've put new film in the window. The other one looked really bad so we pulled that down - boy was that difficult! But we managed to do it and it looks better now. I checked RL ("the cheep store") for ready made curtains for the bathroom window but they didn't seem to have any so I gave up on that. I just want white, thin curtains to brighten the room up a bit.

We've been to the dump twice today already and to Nettó twice as well. I've vaccumed all floors and wasched most of them.

Good riddens

I went to the weekly weighing yesterday and it turned out that I have got rid of 1.1 kilo this week :) That's not bad at all and now I have 9.9 kilos to go if I go with my original plan of getting rid of 41.2 kilos. Finally I seem to be back on track after months of slow or no progress.

The bathroom is coming along pretty well except for the bloody plumber standing us up again :( Not the first time and probably not the last time either. The tilers will finish today and then we have the bath tap to put up (which we can do ourselves) the toilet bowl (which we can do ourselves as well - maybe with some help from Árni), and the towel rack which I don't think we can put up ourselves. But I will certainly try. And then we also have curtains to put up and paint the ceiling, window and door but I'll do that after the exams.
